Spirit Guides - 2

A Friend Indeed

Hey, I have another story I would like to share. It happened while still living in my grandma’s house, but is caused by outside circumstances. I can still remember her name, Mary grace. She became like an older sister to me in High school, she was 2 years older than I was but she always had my back. She was originally from the Philippines (this information, will come in handy later in the story). I remember for our secret Santa thing that we did she pulled my name and gave me this cute Sanrio piggybank. It was one that would swing back and forth. Anyhow, something very tragic happened to her. At her young age, she got pregnant and although we may never know the real reason why she did, it we heard rumors that she was so afraid to tell her parents that she committed suicide and was found in her closet. Needless to say, I was very sad and devastated. Okay, now for the more interesting part of this story. About a month after her passing, I was in my room all alone doing homework and I kept the piggy bank she gave me on my desk. I was in there for about 2 hours alone with the door closed and I didn't really notice anything weird. Then my boyfriend came over to help me and so we were both in my room at my desk. He was sitting to my right and we were both looking at my math book which was also on my right. The binder that I was doing my work on was on my left. I distinctly remember that the last problem I was working on was #26. So we were working on the problem for about 2-3 minutes and when we got the answer i was about to write the number 27, but froze in place and stared at the paper, because there it was the number 27 written I was like " I did not write that" and I knew for sure my boyfriend couldn't have done it because he was on my right side like I said and we were both working on the math question. But the most interesting thing about it is that it was written at an angle as if someone had written it in over my shoulder. I didn't say anything to my boyfriend for about 1 minute because I was just wondering how the hell did that get there. I then finally asked him if he wrote it and he was like of course not and anyway how could he. We then felt the coldest chill in the room, no wind cause the door and window was closed, just the coldest chill came over where we were sitting and I swear the piggybank she gave me started swinging back and forth and that would only happen if someone pushes it, we looked at each other without making a big fuss, stood up gathered the books and walked down stairs and the cold chill followed only me downstairs. It’s like I had a blanket of cold air around my body. We started discussing that number that was wriiten in and then I just had the idea to check over all the other work that I have been doing while I was alone. And for sure to my amazement there were many more numbers and things that you could distinctly tell weren't my handwriting. I would see my handwriting and then all of sudden it changes to a different type of writing and this continued through the several pages of math problems that I did. But the most chicken skin thing was that I normally write my number 7 just as you see it there, but it is really common for people from the Philippines to write the number 7 with a line in the middle. I hope you all know what I mean it kinda looks like a backwards F. And I have never ever in my entire life to this day write my 7 with the line. But there it was in plain sight at the point where the handwriting changes and if there was a 7 in the problem it was written with a line through it. We just stared at the papers in amazement. The thing is I was never really good in math and I was surprised myself that I went through like 10 pages of work with no complications. I didn't notice while I was doing it, not until we were looking over the papers, that she was helping me through it all that time. I smiled and said “Thank you" a couple seconds later the cold chill went away. I still have the piggybank somewhere. But I wish I still had those math homework, as a reminder that a true friend is always there no matter what. (By Triz)

When I was still in the Navy, I lived in a military housing area on Wheeler Army Air Base in Wahiawa and had gone through a particularly painful divorce in late 1994. In early November 1996, I had caught "The Bus" in Wahiawa to go to the Pearl Ridge Mall. The bus was crowded with people going down to Pearl Harbor for the remembrance day of the Japanese attack on Oahu. The only seat left was next to me. In Mililani, the bus picked up a nice looking, somewhat heavyset "Hawaiian" woman wearing a pretty, yellow muumuu and a straw hat with wild flowers stuck in the hatband. She sat next to me and immediately struck up a conversation. Being somewhat shy, but kind, I listened to what she had to say, but did not talk much. The thing that struck me about her the most was her brilliant eyes and a sense of peace that surrounded her. She told me her name was "Mama Loa" but her birth name was Leilani. She said she used to be an entertainer in "old Hawaii" (???) She then asked me for my left hand. Laying two fingers on my palm, she began to describe me. Because of my shyness, I don't remember much of what she said, but she told me about the divorce I had just gone through and said I "lead with my heart, not my head". The funny thing is, the whole time she was talking to me, the sounds of conversation on the bus, even the people themselves kind of faded into the background in a sort of soft-focus. It was like Leilani and I were there, but not quite. (I know this sounds crazy, but every bit of this actually happened.) She then told me about this woman I would soon meet who would be my soul mate. Now, I've got to tell you, at this point, even though what she was telling me sounded wonderful, I didn't really believe her. I thought she was a sweet, well-meaning woman, but that she might not have been "all there". She started describing this woman and then suddenly stopped and started laughing, saying "...and she's SHORT!" (I'm 6'4") Soon her stop came up. She told me to remember all she had told me, especially her name, and then taking my face gently in her hands she kissed me once on both cheeks to "balance me out" (???). She then stepped off the bus with about four other people. The whole thing was just so fantastic and strange, that I immediately stood up so I could get another good look at her as the bus pulled away. The other 4 people were there, but she was nowhere to be seen! There were no stores or obstructions around the bus stop for her to step into or behind, and with her size, yellow muumuu, and wild flower hat she would be impossible to miss. I stood there searching for her the entire time the bus pulled away and started down the street. I did not spot her nor have I seen her since. The funny thing is, just 3 months later, at the retirement party of a mutual friend, I met a wonderful woman named Sharon. We were married in 1997 and have had the most wonderful, fulfilling, loving relationship a couple could ever hope for. At the time we met, she was living in Mililani (where Leilani first boarded the bus) and...she's 5'1"!! Incredible coincidence? Maybe. However, I have been unable to find anything on a mama Loa/Leilani anywhere. (By Bill F.)

Mysterious Bus Rider in Mililani

Something a little odd took place one night. I saw my daughter lying in bed on her back with her eyes closed, praying. Something I've never seen her do since she was little. Later that night around 3 or 4 something in the morning, I had gotten out of bed to use the bathroom, and took a quick check in her room, and was surprised to see white spirit-looking flowers, like flower lights above her on the wall in the corner. (Her bed is in the corner.) She doesn't have any "light stencils" or anything like that, that would explain it. I know it sounds like maybe I was walking in my sleep or haven't fully awakened yet, possibly still dreaming or something, but I was "awake" and I know what I saw. Feeling that the "spirit flowers" were something of divine nature, I let it be and went back to bed after going to the bathroom. I told her about it the next morning. She didn't even remember praying that night! (Anonymous)

Spirit Flowers

The Yellow Butterfly

It seemed for a while that a yellow butterly would come around me at times, even in places that you wouldn't think a butterfly would be. Well one day me and my grandma went to visit my great-grandma's grave but for a long time we couldn't find it. Then my grandma said, "Why don't you ask your spirit guide where it is." I don't know what made her say that but I tried anyway and just as we were about to leave we both saw this yellow butterfly that started flying around us, like to get our attention or something. Then it started flying in another direction. Grandma and I both had the same instinct which was to just follow it. After just little while it landed on a grave and to our amazement that was the grave we were looking for! We both couldn't believe it but there it was! I guess my spirit guide does come as a yellow butterfly! (A.L.)
