Night Visitors - 2I too had an experience of the choking ghost. I was in the Air Force stationed at Hickam AFB. I lived in the barracks at the time. I just had gotten a new roommate and he was into witchcraft, séance’s, candles, and Tarot cards. It didn't take him long to find him a girlfriend that liked the same interests. I worked second shift and would come home to find him and her doing there rituals, burning candles the works. They always ask me to join in but I said I want nothing to do with what they were doing. It went on for a while and they got creepier as the nights went on. We had bunk beds and I had the top bunk. I would find drawings and symbols on a plywood board I had in between my mattress and bedsprings. And while I tried to sleep I can hear him opening up his knife and stab the plywood that had the drawings and symbols under my mattress. He would put material things in my pillow. Finally, I had enough and told him he had to find a new roommate. He got mad and said that I would regret it. He did move out. Now comes the hair-raising part. It wasn't long after he left that things were not the same. I had just worked my second shift and went back to the barracks. I was very tired and decided to lie down. I had falling asleep lying on my back. Then all of a sudden, I felt something on my chest. It was like someone heavy just sat on my chest. It also felt like it was sucking the air out of my body. I couldn't move, get up. Nothing!! I was paralyzed. I was getting scared. I finally fought off what was on my chest but there was nothing or nobody there. I rose up and there it was standing at the foot of the bed. A moose like figure with horns and glowing red eyes. I told myself this can't be true. I seriously rubbed my eyes hard. It was still there swaying his head back and forth with an evil look. His eyes glowed fiery red and just kept swaying his head back and forth. Then nothing, he vanished. I was so scared. The next afternoon I went to work and told some of the local Hawaiians what had happened. They ask me to draw what I saw. And I did. They all looked at each other and said that I needed to stay out of that room. I ask why and they told me that I saw the Hawaiian devil. I had chicken skin and hair rose on the back of my neck. I ask what it wanted. They said he wanted my soul. Then I thought about it had to be my old roommates doing. Then I got mad thinking about it. I wasn't going to let my old roommate or the Hawaiian devil get to me. For the next year and half I stayed in that barracks room. And I did have the choking ghost experience numerous times after that. I finally moved to a different military base. But I didn't let those two get the best of me. It took a lot of faith and praying. This is a true story! (By Dennis J.) Choking Ghost on Hickam Air Force Base - 1 After reading up on the “choking ghost” stories I have seen I had to submit my stories also... I arrived at Hickam AFB on Oahu June 13th 2003. I was only on the island two weeks before my first choking ghost experience displayed itself to me. It occurred in the morning around 6-7 a.m. I, myself, have never dreamed about the location I am actually at until this experience came to be. I feel myself waking up and start looking around the dorm room and I see everything in its place with no alterations caused by ones dreams. During this time, I begin to feel a very tense sensation around my neck as if someone was trying to take the life out of me. The sensation lasted approximately 30-45 seconds from what I recollect. Once the entity took its grasp off me I looked to the edge of my bed and caught the glimpse of a human figure but only the silhouette standing beside me. I was very shook up but then played the situation off as, "Only a Nightmare". After talking to a fellow female dorm resident about the event, she also had an experience almost identical to mine. Still living in the same room in D206 1815 Vosler Hall. I again had the "choking ghost" visit me during my slumber. The date was Nov. 10 2003. I had a friend spending the night this evening but my luck has it that she left my room before the ghost again showed HER face. My friend left around 4 a.m. and the second experience occurred at the same time between 6-7 a.m. The event is much clearer in my mind and was more realistic then the first instance. Again, I felt to be waking up and began to search my room for the ever so odd presence of another person in my room. I scanned the room only once before the tight restriction around my neck again became intense as if one were choking the life force from me. During the choking period I was able to tilt my neck back enough to be able to see my back wall and my headboard. At this time I saw the dark silhouette of a being, but once seen it immediately took its grasp away from my neck. What I did next was probably odd but I asked the ghost if it was male or female. It responded with female! I proceeded to ask her name which it also gave to me. Last name, then first name. After those three experiences the spirit again dissipated into blank darkness. There have been 3 total experiences since I have been on Oahu. Two, involved the "choking ghost" and the one incident in the middle, was one I prefer not to talk about. These occurrences are now affecting my outlook on what is real and what is a dream. (By S.Sgt. N.) Choking Ghosts on Hickam Air Force Base - 2 We owned a house in paradise park Keaau on the Big Island. My son Charles was subject to terror perhaps somewhere around the first year after moving into the house. He used drugs which I am sure made it very easy for whatever the spirit was to target him in particular. He began having experiences where he would sleep on his stomach and wake up feeling something very heavy and strong pushing him down into the bed. This happened many, many times. He even stopped sleeping in his bedroom downstairs where he was completely alone and began sleeping on my couch upstairs. He said he still had problems on the couch. Several of us in the house had our experiences with what seemed to be hauntings. Cordless phones disappearing and never being found. Pounding on my bedroom door. That was an evening I was at home alone. At least 5 of them in 3 and a half years at that house to be exact. And my dog was constantly seeing something. He would sit at the top of my stairs and growl. On at least one of the experiences, Charles had told me that his mouth kept opening and that things were being said that he was not intentionally saying. There was talk of killing himself. The scariest thing was that there had been a suicide in our home before we bought it. At first, I believed that it was the young man's spirit bothering us. But I am more inclined to believe that this spirit is what influenced his suicide. The young man also was a heavy pot smoker and drinker. (I was told this by his relatives still living across the street.) We were very happy to sell the home and have since wondered if there had been any experiences involving the new residents. (By Leslie) Choking Ghost at Keeau You know… he was not only smoking pot at that time but doing ice. It was a bad period of time. He became so frightened because during this time when he had little control of his own mind and will, he began to have repeated experiences. All of them was when he would sleep on his stomach. He said if he slept on his stomach, someone or something, would sit on him, pushing him into his bed and pillow. Once, his mouth started to talk about killing himself. That scared him a lot. (A previous home owner’s son shot and killed himself in his bedroom downstairs. He did a lot of drugs too. Scared Charles enough to make him quit ice “cold turkey” with no help, just quit. Today, he is “clean” and seriously changing his life.) He also described his arms being held down and not being able to talk or scream. Only after a struggle, did he break free. He said sleeping upstairs on my couch made no difference. But hearing someone else speaking through him, more or less, telling him that he wanted to kill himself scared him to the point of change. My dog and I experienced milder types of things in the house, like banging on my bedroom door. The dog always sensed something there, and a friend of my two youngest sons saw the figure of what looked like a man walking between the teepee’s of our roosters. He looked, because it was at night and the birds were asleep (they sleep early). One screamed, as he saw the figure pulling the leg of the bird. And then the figure just seemed to vanish. The house was sold. The previous owners never disclosed details about the house or suicide, but I did. Sold it anyway, but the man never lived in it. I heard he made two apartments our of my large two-story six-bedroom home. I have always wondered if anyone told him about strange happenings there. By Leslie) (Additional submission to "Choking Ghost at Keeau") Pacific Palisades' Black Shadow I grew up in Pacific Palisades in a very old house that was built in the early 60’s. In 1988 or around that time, I was living in that house with my parents. I slept in what used to be the master bedroom, in the rear of the house. Very quiet and peaceful, no trouble. That is, until one night. All I can remember is that I was in a very peaceful sleep, when I suddenly woke up for no reason. It must have been around 1 a.m. or so, and I found that I couldn’t move a muscle! I was lying face up on my bed, but I was paralyzed. Suddenly, I felt a black shadow or black presence over my head. The more I tried to move or “resist” this entity or whatever it was, the more it would press down on me. I was like, “What the heck is going on?” “Is this a dream or am I really awake?!” With no way to fight back and nowhere to go, I began to recite the Lord’s Prayer in my head over and over. I must have said, “Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name...”, about 5 or 6 times. Suddenly, I felt the black presence lift and I was able to move. To this day, I still wonder if it was a dream. But I can tell you this, almost 99% of the dreams I have had, have always instantly faded from memory the moment I awaken. This dream, or experience, has stayed with me for the past 20 years. I can still remember what it felt like and how helpless I felt, and how grateful and relieved I was when I asked God for help and He answered! (By Al) Bad Spirit Last month my daughter came in our room around 3:30 a.m. and said that something was sitting on her and choking her. She tried calling my wife but she couldn't. Same thing happened to her in Waikoloa only thing this was in our house this time! Also, the other day I went to one of our rooms to take a short nap and got up with 3 scratches on my arm! (By E.N.) Update: Someone told her to clean her mirrors in her room and everything would be fine, so she did and now nothing... weird.
