One of them that is always close to her is a tall and lean haole man, whom I’ve seen a number of times. I later discovered him to be “Robert Stevenson”. I didn’t recognize him for a while because he looks kind of different from any of the pictures online. The pictures don’t do him much justice because he’s quite a good looking guy. But mainly, he is such a nice and very warm person, very mellow and gentle, like you can tell him anything kind of person. I really like this delightful spirit. Every time I see him, he’s always smiling, always in a good mood, and obviously a very close and trusted friend of the queen. I haven’t yet talked to him much, just small talk, because most of my visits/time there has been occupied with ‘aunty’. So far, he has been the brightest and most pleasant-feeling spirit I’ve encountered at the palace. I also learned that he and Princess Kaiulani were very close and special friends. Too bad she’s reincarnated. Oftentimes when I get to the palace, there’s a bunch of people in the main area fronting the staircase socializing and looking happy. After all this time, it was just several months ago that I began noticing Miriam Likelike in the crowd, not saying she was never there before. I always see her smiling but I’ve never spoken to her or even met her, so not really much to tell about her. A kind of short lady. Her husband, Archibald Cleghorn, I remember going into Kalakaua’s chamber and saw an older man’s face shaded in ‘blue light’ looking right at me. He looked stern and had a white beard. Talking to a friend, he said, “That’s probably Sanford B. Dole.” I looked online who Sanford Dole was and how he looked. When I saw what he looked like, I thought, that probably was him, later realizing it wasn’t, it was Archibald Cleghorn. (I’ve never been a fan of ‘history’ which much later made me realize it was a kind of good thing because it didn’t influence my ‘spiritual experiences’.) Anyway, that was my first experience with him. Since then, I’ve seen him a number of times, more so this year. Once in a while he’d have a cane, but not always. Definitely a businessman. When I’d see him, he was oftentimes on Kalakaua’s side of the palace, sometimes with other businessmen. For most of the times I gone there, I kinda found it strange and a little creepy because he appears to be observing me from a shadowy sort of way, like trying not to be seen. But I didn’t really pay him much attention because my attention and time there was usually preoccupied right away. It wasn’t until couple months or so ago, I was drawn to the palace and there was a room with the door open. From outside the room, I saw Miriam Likelike sitting in a chair, smiling. Though she wore a smile, she seemed a bit rigid behind that facade, but maybe that was just her way, no big deal. From my left, I could hear footsteps, so I turned and saw Archie coming. FIRST time I saw him in ‘regular light’ and he was smiling. I don’t quite know why, but I couldn’t help but hug him, feeling kind of emotional. He looked and felt like such a nice person, after all this time. Wish I could say the same for his wife. We went into the room, and I’m sure you know what I mean, how, as a common Hawaiian style courtesy, kissed Miriam on the cheek. She didn’t even lean forward, as people would normally do, so I just thought, ‘O-okay...’ I don’t quite know why they called me over because not long after that I ended up falling asleep. Another time, they did call me again, but they caught me at a bad time and I wasn’t able to go till hours later, and when I did go, I found myself walking upstairs then stood there looking around. I’ve been up there few times before but why I was up there looking around, was puzzling. Since then, that was that. I’ve never had the time go get into what all that was about with those two. Someday I will. Robert Louis Stevenson Robert Louis Stevenson Princess Miriam Likelike Princess Miriam Likelike Archibald Cleghorn Archibald Cleghorn One night while walking toward the palace, I passed a bunch of people on the palace grounds looking upward and in awe. I thought they had to be seeing something interesting, so I turned to look and saw the queen on the balcony upstairs, waving, which even for me, found that to be a pretty awesome experience. Then one night while inside the palace, I saw Israel Kamakawiwoole outside the palace, standing there on the palace grounds, looking at the palace, knowing the royals were right inside. The look on his face made it obvious that he was truly enjoying the feeling of that with total admiration. I was certainly surprised to see him and noticed he looked younger – the same, but younger. (It varies, but many spirits usually look, at least, about ten years younger than the age they were when they passed.) What I found profound about him was the soulfully strong devotion he has to his culture which you could tell through his songs, yes, but to see and feel it in his spirit-soul, is something worth mentioning, and something to experience. Later, I thought of a way to honor ‘him’ by introducing him to the ‘king and queen’, which I will get into later on. Soon after arriving and going into the queen’s favorite ‘chat room’, she sat in her chair and before I sat down, I noticed a young lady standing outside by the banyan tree, staring at the palace. She had a long white dress on with long, kinda puffy sleeves with a light tan colored square-shaped sort of panel of her dress right on the bib of her dress. I asked aunty, “Who’s that lady?” Without turning around, she told me that she has something to do with one of the palace guards. The Lady in White The Lady in White Israel Kamakawiwo'ole Israel Kamakawiwo'ole Queen Emma Kalanikaumakaamano Kaleleonalani Naea Rookee Queen Emma Kalanikaumakaamano Kaleleonalani Naea Rooke The other night I went to the palace and saw Queen Emma walking around in the main area. She looked at me when she walked by and smiled. I saw her pictures before but in person (so to speak) she was way prettier than what’s on print. Looking at her, feeling what she is really like, and how she carries herself, she… is what you call “a lady” in every respect. She is by far the most ladylike at the palace I’ve encountered yet because she is also the most feminine. After standing there a little while looking her then looking to see if ‘aunty’ was at the palace (because she always comes out when I come over unless she’s not there) she (Emma) came right back and walked down toward the mauka end to show me where aunty was. Interesting people at the palace. One Friday night I was with several friends at the Iolani Palace chatting with the palace security guard who was on break. When he went back inside after his break, we were outside chatting and just to take couple of my own pictures, I casually took just a few with my cell phone’s camera. This is one of em. I don’t know if that is an actual face of a spirit. All I know is that something was drawing me to that upstairs tower for a little while so I took the picture and that’s what came out. Having caught quite a bit of pictures of spirits in my time, it’s a habit with me to take 1-2 more shots from the same spot. And in those 2 follow up shots, there was nothing that was in that one photo. This is a male spirit that followed me home from the palace that Friday night. He wasn’t negative but after that first night I didn't want it a second time because most times I prefer no spirits in my car. Following night, I was getting coffee at McDonald’s drive-thru and while waiting in line, I faced my cellphone camera toward the backseat to try & take a picture of him, to no avail. He knew what I was trying to do, dodging the camera, but being determined I decided to trick him, aiming the camera at him into my (clean) rearview mirror, and voila, I got em! And I told him that too, “I gotcha!” Since then he never came back. (Most spirits don’t like their picture taken.)
